Howard Park Civic Association has several committees that carry
out the day to day work of the organization. Our committees are
always looking for dedicated & creative volunteers to help with
the activities and growth of the organization.

Below is a list of some of the current committees;
Community Commercial Revitalization (Supermarket)-
works with the Baltimore Department of Planning and the Baltimore
Development Corporation to facilitate the development of the commercial
area in the neighborhood of Gwynn Oak Ave, Liberty Heights Ave and
Zoning – monitor and inform the
Board of zoning requests and violations that come up related to
Howard Park and surrounding communities.
Membership - processing membership applications and
actively recruit members, and membership renewals/
Finance - raise funds.
Block Captains - recommended or volunteer
for the position. They should be a self starter, initiator and leader
in resolving neighborhood issues. Their responsibilities are to
provide a line of communication between the residents in their immediate
neghborhood and HPCA, recruit members, assist the Board of Directors
in addressing resident's complaints, provide input and helping with
the distribution of the community newsletter and more..
Public Safety - The Public Safety Committee
shall work with the City of Baltimore's Police Department, Fire
Department and Animal Control Unit as well as other law enforcement/public
safety agencies, as needed, along with the HPCA membership in identifying
physical safety hazards in the HPCA area and seeking solutions for
these. The Committee shall also be responsible for coordinating
Neighborhood Watch Programs.
Community Clean-Up - Check the HPCA
Calendar for the next upcoming Roll Off location. As of January
1, 2009 the City of Baltimore has made a drastic change to it's
Community Pitch in Program. For the latest information CLICK
